Kansas Oklahoma and Gulf bridge  Contributor's Pick!
View is from the Oklahoma side of the Red River. The flooring is concrete laid over sheet iron over the original ties. Every fourth tie was replaced with new ones. This was done in the early 80's by Bryan county. The carriage section (closed gate to the left) was to be done by Grayson county as both have joint owneship after the KO and G donated the bridge to them. At the time Grayson county refused and the carriage section, already in bad condition, became unsafe for use. I actually got to drive over the carriage road when the construction had the other side closed. As I crossed over I could see planking pop up and settle back because the bolts were rusted off underneath. Drove home a different way.
